Consequences
The following are some of the aspects that mark important differences of
musical presentation in front of conventional music performance:
-
Real-time electronic seems not to be adequate for the presentation of cybermusic.
However, it may be very useful for the cybermusic creation.
-
Visual projection might match the cybermusic projection approach.
However, the visual attraction is moving the focus away from the primary attraction
of sounds.
-
New musical communities are built on the communication basis of time and space
independent musical distribution. On the other hand, listener may become lonelier
since no society event is required to bring the music into sound with a common receipted
performance.
-
It is important to notice that most of conventional music is listened today through
projection as well, although it has been generated by performance. In addition,
studio performance instead of a real-time concert and methods of studio mastering
are already pointing toward hybrid systems of musical generation.
Cybermusic projection moves the general musical communication toward a scheme that is known
from literature: An author produces a book for asynchronous distribution and perception.
