Functional Extras

Preload/Mute Animated Sounds :: Hold "Control" key and left-click button that is prepared for playing a sequence or a specific group.
All elements will be loaded and be set to 'mute'. The button play status will remain on 'stop'.
Change Placeholder destination for Animated Sounds :: Hold "Alt" key and right-click button to stop the recording of a Placeholder assignment sequence.
A group call will be created (see 'Blue' status above) with new Placeholders assigned to each of the sounds.
A Placeholder assignment sequence is built by periodically indicating a source sound (left-click into source sound graphics) followed by its target sound's Placeholder (right-click into target sound graphics).
It is recommended to perform this assignment in stop mode (when sounds are not animated).
Change position of a temporary Play Control :: Right-click empty Play Control while source Play Control is on stop.
The last played Play Control content will move from the original position to the new Play Control.
Copy a temporary Play Control to a new position :: Right-click empty Play Control while playing source Play Control.
The currently played Play Control content will be copied from the original position to the new Play Control.
Index a Play Control to create a personal Palette :: Hold alphanumeric key (including "Shift") and left-double-click button: Letter will show up instead of the 'Play' symbol.
Hold "Space" (or "Backspace") key and left-double-click Play Control: Switch back to default 'Play' symbol.
Indexed Play Controls provide additional storage for temporary sequences. Sets of indexed Play Controls are called a 'Palette'. Palettes can locally be stored and retrieved, even during play, using the 'FleX' button (see below).

Record Flat or Group Controls depending on # of chars (1500, default) :: Left-click to stop recording a REEF session.
Recording will return Group control actions only if recorded sequence was longer than 1500 characters. Playing this sequence will then be based on sound animation. This is useful to send sequence by Email.
Force Group Controls Recording :: Hold "Shift" key and left-click to stop recording a REEF session.
Recording will return Group control actions only. Playing this sequence will then be based on sound animation.
Force Flat Controls Recording :: Hold "Control" key and left-click to stop recording a REEF session.
Recording will return full sequence data even recorded sequence was longer than 1500 characters.

Extract Play Control Content to Browser Address Field :: Hold "Home" key and left-click button when enabled.
The sequence will be sent to a new browser window into the address field.
This is especially useful when no email editor can be launched through the browser (mailto).
Note: Unlike the comparing function performed with a Play Control (see above), this function is here also available with the 'Classic Recorder'.

Multiple functions with Play Control Palette
:: Soundfile Mode (red logo or gray flash)
Left-click button (red logo): Play soundfile if exists instead of Animated Sounds when clicking Palette controls.
Right-click button (gray flash): Sound channels will be freed to allow full Animated Sounds play and sound files will be reset to their beginning.
Note 1: Each time the Palette control is clicked, the sound will either be started (fade in) or be paused (fade out). The next time the control is clicked the sound will continue to play. After the sound has reached its end, it will start again upon the next clicking of the control.
Note 2: Animated Sounds belonging to the control will be launched as well but being set on mute.

Palette Mode (black background)
Hold alphanumeric key (including "Shift") and left-double-click button: Open Palette (indexed buttons, see above).
Hold alphanumeric key (including "Shift") and right-double-click button (1): Save Palette (except overwrite).
Note 1: To overwrite a Palette you need to switch to 'Letter Mode'. Then repeat the above action.
Hold alphanumeric key (including "Shift") and right-double-click button (2): Activate Base Palette (pre-configured).
Note 2: It is possible to open ANY palette from any other HTML Project Palette (Base Palette). After activating the required Base Palette the Palette is opened with the left-double-click as described above.
Hold "Alt" key and left-click button: Switch to 'Find Mode'/'Play Mode'.
Hold "Alt" key and right-click button: Switch to 'Letter Mode'.
Note 3: Each Palette belongs to a Base Palette. For example, Palette 'a' in Base Palette '2' will look different from Palette 'a' in Base Palette '1'.

Find Mode (red background)
Check Animated Sound(s), then left-click button: Finds any sound groups where the checked sound(s) appear(s).
Note 1: Current open palette will be closed and a Find palette will be opened from where the results can be played.
Right-click button: Initializes Find Mode (removes sound check marks and search results).
Hold "Shift" key and right-click button: Removes sound check marks only (need to use with sounds of special prefixes other than 'S').
Hold "End" key and left-click button: Issues a find report per email (sound group(s) and source palette(s)).
Hold "Home" key and left-click button: Issues a find report per browser address bar (sound group(s) and source palette(s)).

Play Mode (red background)
Hold "Control" key and left-click button: Initialize play mode anytime again after any other Sound Page object has been touched.
Press any alpha-numeric key that appears as button index on the palette: Plays that button.
Note 1: Play Controls sharing the same index will be played simultaneously.
Note 2: Play Controls will execute according to their current status (toggle).
Note 3: Executed Play Controls can be recorded and played again. However, indexed sequences cannot be transferred by email.
Note 4: During play, new palettes can be loaded. Playing buttons will remain playing and switch to a new index after stop.
Hold "Alt" key and left-click button: Switch to back "Palette Mode".

Letter Mode (violet background)
Hold alphanumeric key (including "Shift") and left-double-click button: Change complete Palette to indicated index.
Note 1: This provides an easy way to indicate where temporary sequences are stored.
Note 2: A new indexed Palette can be used to start a new section within a project.
Hold "Space" or "Backspace" button and left-double-click button: Set complete Palette to default status.
Hold alphanumeric key (including "Shift") and right-double-click button: Save Palette (will overwrite existing Palette).
Hold "Alt" key and left-click button: Switch to back "Palette Mode".

Change Palette :: Left-klick to change palette: Open a new palette (pre-defined).
The button display and the executed link to another palette are completely pre-defined (see html source).
The button may link to another palette, or even to another base palette with another palette included.
If the button links to another base palette, then all play control content of the destination palette must be saved in advance as temporary play control (which can be done with the "Copy Play Control Content to Temporary Location" function described on the former page).
This is then also true in case another button links back to the original base palette (the original html content has then already been overridden).

This button replicates the load palette functions of the "FleX" button described above. The advantage lies in the combination of loading a base and an included palette at once just by one left-klick. This makes it more suitable for realtime play. In addition, the button can load the palette already when starting the page where the button is included ('init' in sw8).
